Who We Are
Approximately 804 physicians and 233 clinic locations comprise the Novant Medical Group (NMG) Forsyth Region throughout North and South Carolina. Some physicians and clinics provide medical care in local neighborhoods, communities and hospitals. Collectively, they work together to improve the practice of medicine. For instance, they are implementing an electronic medical record system in all locations over the next three years, which provides remarkable improvements in the way physicians, staff and patients interact. The Novant Medical Group Forsyth Region clinics serve 27 counties and are concentrated in the following three main geographic areas:

Novant Medical Group in Brunswick and New Hanover counties have 25 physicians, five mid-level providers and 17 clinic locations.

Novant Medical Group in the Winston-Salem and Triad Region have 265 physicians, 124 mid-level providers and 59 clinic locations.

Presbyterian Novant Medical Group in the Charlotte and surrounding region have 514 physicians, 127 mid-level providers and 156 clinic locations.

Our History
The first practices began to join Novant Health in 1993 in order to take advantage of the opportunities offered by a fully-integrated healthcare delivery system. Affiliation with a well-respected healthcare provider offers physicians the chance to concentrate on providing quality patient care while an administrative team provides billing, coding, human resources, marketing, clinical education and other operational services to their practice.

Over the past ten years, more than 30 independent physicians and practices have become part of what is now known as Novant Medical Group. Those practices and employed physicians enjoy the many benefits that are part of Novant Health and Forsyth Medical Center.

Novant Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system in western North Carolina that serves more than 3.5 million people in 34 counties reaching from southern Virginia to northern South Carolina. Novant was formed July 1, 1997 by the merger of Carolina Medicorp of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and Presbyterian Health Services of Charlotte, North Carolina. Thomasville Medical Center joined the system in November 1997. Brunswick Community Hospital joined in 2006.
